2014 XP Deus Initial Impressions

I hope your talking about old home sites cause if your talking about parks you might be disappointed.
the Deus is a beast in parks. It has the best target separation of any machine I have ever used (which is a lot). It might not be as deep as the etrac, but target separation (not target id) is light years ahead of any other machine. The learning curve for target identification is large for some, but others aren't bothered by it.

OK I'll bite, don't own it, think its a great unit from everything I seen and read it shines in iron probably one of the best. In parks I think you can save money and do just as good or close with a cheaper MD like at pro or the new fisher euro something , plus many more.Look no MD is a does all as we all no so it would be one of the best for old home sites or relic and good for parks but not the best that is all, so I wouldn't kick it out of bed so to speak , but for me I be better with a erac and deus or something els but want the etrac in my arsenal first it has proven it self over and over and my area is park infested.

I've pulled tons of silver with my E-Trac in my local parks, that have been hunted a LOT by others. Small parks too, so yes, it finds the honey where most others can't.

To tell you the truth all I seen guys use around here is the aces so I no there just tons of silver waiting to b dug.

Well the snow has melted in some areas of my backyard, enough for me to try out the Deus. I've been over my small yard with the E-Trac and AT Pro many times, and it is riddled with iron. Using the trash program, I have been able to find MANY strong repeatable signals with good numbers among the iron. While its still to cold to dig, I have the feeling that the Deus is going to impress me this spring!!

Is that the Trash Prog from Andys book?

is the deus an American made detector
I was under the impression it was an European

Made in France. Looking at their website would answer that and a lot more.

I just got into MDing and bought an AT Pro. I have only been able to take it out a few times and I love the thing, but this Deus sure is interesting. After I put a year or so on the ATP and watch for all of your long term tests... Think I'll be upgrading to the Deus and keeping the ATP for the wife or a spare. Hope you guys that have one continue to give us feedback!

The Deus, like many other detectors has a learning curve, I went from AT Pro to Deus, and I loved my ATP but the Deus is awsome and I am not looking back......Once I get "Set" using the Deus, I will be a rcok star, and even not being set, I am getting great finds!

Got out in the backyard for another hour today, and I'm slowly learning more and more about the Deus. Still finding coins in a really small area that has been pounded, and usually in the middle of a lot of trash. My yard must have been someone's dump site, because I constantly find weird old stuff, including a nut to a bolt that is the size of my fist! It's easy to see why the Deus is finding more stuff that my E-Trac had previously just nulled over. Looking forward to hitting a real site and see if I have similar luck.

Are dept and depth the same thing?

LOL ... I would think if you see Dept ... it;s just missing the H

Dept is not a word unless abbreviated for Department.

So I would say no, not sure where that came from.

I believe he was being sarcastic towards a user in this thread that repeatedly misspelled the word. However, it is hard to evaluate someone's intent via text without more context, so it is possible he was actually confused by it.

I thought it was kinda weird but it seemed so serious so I figured it deserved a bit of a serious answer I suppose just in case.

AWESOME Video here showing the XP Deus .... Starts with some E-Trac stuff and shows both machines uncovering a Merc

But if you wan't to know how damn fast this thing is scroll to 9:35 seconds .... WOW .... that thing is F A S T ! ! !

I also like how he tested all kinds of US coins and showed the Deus screen int he corner to give you an idea of the VDI and tone somewhat (in ground conditions vary obviously.

Anyway I just had to post this in a few Deus threads for ya'll to see if you haven't yet.

I like GHFH's videos, and this video was actually the one that sold me on the Deus and its speed.

I traded my Etrac and AT Pro for a DEUS. One of my hunting partners has one and he kicked my butt every time out. He has much more experience than I do but I was getting real comfortable with the Etrac and saw first hand the Deus hit on targets that I couldn't see with my Etrac set up. I had the 11" pro coil and the 8X6 SEF. I loved my Etrac but I think the Deus is going to be the machine for me. I will own another AT Pro for sure just for having a waterproof rig.
