A little late on this, but busy getting books done, and a failed frozen dirt dig.
The numbers were down a lot mainly because only hunted about one third as many days as the past couple of years.
This year 2014, 25+ days hunted, 26 old coppers, 8 silvers, 2 were Spanish.
Last year 2013, 70+ days hunted, 154 old coppers, 38 silver, 6 were spanish.
Even though the numbers were down I managed a couple items off my top ten wish list, 1) a dollar sized Silver 1808 8 reale, and 2) an IDable 1600's coin, 1650 french liard.
Some firsts include a toy soldier, and a silver thimble although it was crushed, and cut in half.
Got a rare 4th reg. rev. war button, so all in all I'm quite satisified for the effort put in. If I can cross one or two items off the top ten list next year, I'll consider it a success too.
The lot of it.
The best Silver.
This pic. shows some remaining luster.
The best copper.
The 1650's french liard by itself.
The best buttons, a rare rev. war pewter, and 1795 pattern artillery.
That's all folks.
