2011 Illinois Silver Tally

10-22-2011

Hello L4S, I got out for a bit last night and got two mercs, then today was our club hunt at an old school site, I scored a 41' quarter and a nice 1917 Standing Liberty quarter. I left there and went to one of my newly acquired spots and scored three more mercs and 12 wheat pennies. for a two day total of 7 silvers. this should put me at 279 silvers for the year to date.
I'm really lovin' this new spot I recently gained permission to hunt. so far it has produced two barber dimes and five mercs. also one very nice 1909 Indian penny, and about 25 nice early wheat pennies. I've hunted it three times now, and between all three hunts there I've spent less than two hours total time on site. One hour the first time, and maybe 30-40 minutes the two other times I've been there.

Is this the hunt you guys were telling me about when you guys were up here? Or its that one one of your own guys' sites?

Only 68 more to go.

This should bump the tally up a bit. Can you add 33 to my total, puts me at 116 for the year, ive had a very good month, been hunting a local fairgrounds for about the last week, and pulled 24 silver coins from one 100'x100'area.

Getting close boys and girls! We should hit 2k this weekend if everyone finds one or two. :icon_thumright: :icon_thumleft: Now go dig 'em.

Hello L4S got a 1901 Barber dime a couple of days ago, and today I got a 1906o Barber dime and a 1914d Barber dime.

we still havent hunted the spot Chris was talking about. They got the beans out a day or two ago. so probably gonna hit it anytime. are ya gonna come down anytime soon?

And I guess you were right about me being on track for 300 silvers this year. I didn't think it was possible but I'm in the 280's and its still October.

add another 117 for the year. a beautiful 1920 mercury dime that would grade G4. Why so beautiful??? Because it was my 100th silver coin from the Wiliamson County Fairgrounds, in 4 years of hunting that place. Ive been ignoring other sites for the last month and a half in hopes of pulling that one lonely silver coin, and it finally happened. Anyways that makes 117 for the year.

Found a new site never detected before, bump me up to 356 on the silver

Let me know when you guys want to hit it. I'll grab D-Dub and we can make a road trip out of it.
