Hey everyone, I wanted to send along a group photo of the finds I made at a old trading post I think. I did some research and believe it to be this guys trading post. I'm not gonna leave his name because of streets and area's named after him. I know he was from new jersey and it made some seance because I did find the new jersey copper there also.

So I have all of that. What is strange to me though is this. There was also a railroad line a few hundred yards from the place. They weren't in business until the late 1870's. The site has one very old dwelling and about 4 more but are from the early 1900's.

I didn't find any coins or relics from 1850 to 1900. I think that the site being so close to a great body of water that it was a prominent spot and was used by the railroad also. No one would have lived for 100 yrs down there. Not likely to me. They would have past away and moved on. One building is like a garage and made of a type of stone used in the early 1900's.

If I am wrong I wonder why they built 2 huge wells there. Looks like to me this place was built up by a crew of workers. And then I think it was used up until the forties or something like that. The one building looks like it was a storage shed or a place for the trains to make a stop.

Hope you all like the finds. It was really great searching a early civilization. These types of finds I keep a good document on because I don't want it to get lost into history.

Nice going...those old tavern site had mega traffic in their hay days ... so many pioneers stumbled out the door and who know what was droped on there way home....keep posting............seeker :o

Thanks everyone. Sorry I let it ride so long without a post. The watch was just the casing. It was in nice condition though. That is the backside of it. The front doesn't have any of the guts inside of it. It was a surface find.

I hope to find some more of these sites in and around my area. I know there here because our history goes back to the late 1600's. I usually find 2 or 3 of them a year. Not all of them are winners though. The deeper they are in the woods the better. The ground seems to be more natural also. Alot of dirt has been thrown around to build up the area's. And sometimes even though the site is there dirt from roads has been thrown onto them.

Thanks for looking
