200 Coin Day Mission & Contest-Prize/Closed To Further Entries

Re: 200 Coin Day Mission & Contest-Prize

First of all I want to wish you the best of luck. I don't care if I win or not! I hope and will be pulling for you to get to 200 coins in a day. I did it once this year and that is enough for me! I had two nice coin spill recoveries that day and found the stash of the panhandlers (50 coins) under some leaves(found in area I later was told they live), as well as a few small coin spills.<<<That is what inspired me to go for the 200! It took me a total of 6 and 1/2 hours.

What I remember after 3 hours I had 103 coins....that included the panhandlers loot! I thought the most important thing I did at that point (after 3 hours) was count the coins and take a break. I had a snack and a bottle of water. I usually hunt only 3 hours due to the fact I dig almost all my coins from the dirt. So I had a snack, washroom break and counted the rest of the way, it ended up being $15.22 total with 202 coins. I also had 2 rings, one was 14k.

A couple important reminders. If you truly want to hit 200....

#1 Count..... and add 10 more finds before quitting at end....I always add 10 whenever I go for 100 (once a week). That way if my counting is off....i may end up with 106 or 108....had to many times when I thought I counted 100 and it was 92 or 96 or whatever.

#2 Go to a productive park or field. I usually set myself up for my 100 coin day by picking and saving my best spots for that day.

#3 If you do not feel it is going to happen in a reasonable amount of time....quit! There is always tomorrow....don't burn yourself out! 2 of my 100 coin days this spring/summer probably cost me a few hunting days... One I stayed and got my 100 but was sunburned and dizzy. The other time I stayed and detected under and around trees during a downpour and felt like someone kicked the crap out of me! My point is don't overdue it!

#4 Have extra batteries...I use a rechargable battery pack that came with the detector, got another one and also have the regular battery pack...so I have 3. One of my rechargables died out today after 48 coins, I decided to call it a day rather than walk back to car and change.

#5 I did notice you discriminate pennies/nickels out....to be honest after my break I focused a lot on pennies and had a run of over 20 in a row on the surface under a tree....ended up taking around 40-50 from that tree area about half were 0.5 to 1.0 deep....without that I would not have made it to 200! Just a thought on the pennies.

Oh and my guess...207 good luck and enjoy yourself...

No pennies or nickels and 14 hours. Wow, that is hard to estimate. I'm going to say 301 just because I hope you make it there.

Good luck and don't hurt yourself.

HH.
