Visited Mexico this past October for 2 weeks, conditions were not the best neither my reason for visiting. Foliage and plants double me in size and those who know me know im a big guy. Very limited access basically just where the tractor tracks passed and a few corn cut fields. The outings added up to maybe 4 or 5 hours. Here is an overview of the best finds

The lead came in form of bullets and round ball, don't know the age on them, but I suspect some are old, a lead soldier also made himself present.

2 Bronce Rings, one with a name INEZ, and old nail, and old crucifix missing christ, part of saddle ornament and the already mentioned lead toy.

Part of an Iron Jews Harp, What i think might be a small lipstick case ( Made in England )?., A pair of bronce tacks, an aluminium thimble and some random iron hooks.

The buttons showed up in the form of 3 early to mid 1900s iron back buttons, an even more modern cloth cover button also with an iron back, The best buttons are the small button that looks like the upper part of women body that us men love so much and the ball button missing its shank.

Finally the coins are as follow, 5 Centavos from 1955, a 1942 Un Centavo that cleaned up really nice, My first Jalisco (Thats my home state ) state copper from 1834 1/4 Real, and Big counterfeit 8 Reales from the Guanajuato mint dated 1850 that really broke me, because it was not silver, but Oh well a fake 8 reales is better than none, This is the coin I always wanted to find, a Mexican Republic 8 Reales thats why I chose this name when I created my Tnet account. HH and GL to all.

Great hunts, Reales! Certainly a lot of neat stuff there. And O...what a heart-breaker on the counterfeit ! Still, an impressive find, might be rarer than the REAL McCoy...Congrats...Ddf

That looks like a fantastic 4-5 hours of hunting. congrats !!! I love the conterfit piece.

Congrats on your finds. I'll bet that counterfeit had your blood pumping when you first saw it ! Its a nice find anyway.

WOW! epic hunt. Just absolutely amazing coins and relics. Makes me wanna go battle the cartel and gangs to metal detect mexico.

That crucifix could be quite old! Same goes for one of the rings! My oldest ring was from the 15th century and I looks quite similar to your ring, and Iv'e seen medieval crucifix come up from the ground looking a little bit like yours. And btw, that real is an really nice find!

Holy crap!!!! I'm going south of the border! Congratulations! :notworthy:

Yes, kind of like it now, its cleaning ok, it came out of the ground looking just like a copper, but after some cleaning the thin silver layer is poping out.

Yes wish the terrain had aloud me more ground.

Sounds like quite an adventure. Was it an organized hunt?
Congratulations on your finds.

No this is the same locations that I visited a couple months ago, very close to my house in rural Mexico, places that im sure had never had a detector on the ground.

The fake 8 reales would've had me fooled. Great finds all around. Thanks for sharing 8!

As it came out of the ground , wished i had pictures, but totally forgot, It looked just like a copper, so i knew right away it was a bogus piece.

Yes I saw this huge coin popped out, but the color and textured wasn't right, but still like you said, " it had me going "

Funny but in all seriousness stuff is really messy in my hometown, I stayed at my inlaws and in those 2 weeks heard a couple of gun fights between police and cartels, very sad.

The crucifix is french, Its a " Souvenir de Mission " piece, i have found them in the states, but not sure of the date range, I think its late 19th or early 20th century. Do u mean the ring with the name? The 8 reales is indeed a nice find, but i would had preferred the real thing.

Wasn't really trying to be funny, I've never wanted to travel to mexico for these reasons. But I keep seeing people find stuff like this and it makes me want to risk it.
