2 Things i didnt really want to find in the hole at the same time...

These were found like 2 inches from each other in the same hole. one piece seems to be maybe bullet shrapnal, and the other a perfectly cut (rib?) bone. One side of the bone is clean cut (maybe amputated) and the other side is butchered (maybe where the bullet shrapnal hit?) My house is situtiated between a civil war campsite/hospital and a church that was used to hold other soliders and as an additional hospital. (these are down the street from each other)

Just speculation at this point but other thoughts would be appreciated...

I don't like being a downer but I cant imagine how an amputated rib would help I'm thinking it looks like a pork rib but that's just coming from a guy so many miles away looking at a few pics, I hope it is something more interesting than somebody's dinner and I'm wrong
