✅ SOLVED 2 Prong Buckle Info Needed

I have a very small, stamped, 2 prong buckle that I would appreciate any info on. I'm interested in what it could have been used for like clothing, etc & what the terminology would be for this style of buckle.

Inside the horseshoe shaped arc on the broken end, it reads "PAT 1856 & CO". I believe the last characters are "CO" but they are fairly worn out.

Thanks grasshopper!! Never would have guessed something that delicate was a suspender buckle.

And from that link, it's "PAT 1856 & 70".

Yeah all the ones I've found have been pretty flimsy.

Maybe that's why we find so many [emoji3]
