I have this place I've been working. It's not a big area to hunt, but loaded, absolutley loaded with old nails and other bits of metal. It's the spot where a train station once stood. The station was dismantled before I was born. The spot is only a couple hundred feet from my house, so it's easy to skip on over there and hunt pretty much whenever I want.
I started out on discrinimation mode because there were so many darn nails! I found a couple of indian heads, a v nickle and a 1927 dime. By and by I'm not picking up any more signals to speak of, so I decided the thing to do is to turn off the discrimination and dig everything. Yesterday I dug about 3 pounds of nails, but underneath 2 of the iron signals were hiding the 2 indian heads. One is an 1893, and the other an 1894. They're both soaking in olive oil, but here's a photo, partially cleaned.
