Had a couple hours to spare so I grabbed the detector and hit a field I have permission to hunt. First item dug was a flat button. After that I found what I think is a piece of an old bell. Not long after that I found a 1995 nickel
about 4 inches down. Finally, on my way back to my truck I got a nice reading about 7 inches down. I was hoping for some silver but instead uncovered a large cent that I can't date. Also in the photo are some worked pieces of Flint and a piece of pottery. All in all it was a great couple of hours!

Congratualtions on the nice finds! :occasion14:

The V3i is a very capable machine! Enjoy :icon_thumleft:

Thanks!

nice dig on the LC..Hopefully you will be able to clean it up enough to get a date..

Well I could not get a date off of that LC but I can see just enough detail to say for certain that it is a Classic Large Cent so that puts it somewhere in the 1808-1814 range. Pretty cool coin, just wish i could get a date on it.

Thanks, was a fun time. I took my 2 boys with me (5 and 8) and they had a blast.
