Firstly Cru'Dad did some scouting on new land where we had some Archy intel. Sure enough, his little wander in & around the growing beans, found 1 scrappy & Roman pottery - so we have another new site after harvest!8-)
Today we did 4.5 hours gridding on some set-a-side which was close to a Roman Site, but we have only really had the odd hammered off it, so that's what we hoped for.
In the first hour my Deus hit 2 hammered - but that was the kiss of death for the rest of the day...

Tudor Button
Tudor Boot Buckle
Lead Tudor Clothes Fastener (Broken)
Tiny bit of a Medieval Purse Bar
WWI Essex Capbadge8-)
Hammered of Ed I & a halfpenny of Charles I (Rose both sides) - We were 1 hammered off having equaled our best April.

Hi Cru' had one or two TOO HAMMERED days myself, just called in too sick to work......Joe McDonough

very nice stuff. Kiss of death maybe, but the makings of a more enjoyable hunt pulling the nicer finds early. Hope to find a hammered coin one day. Congrats on the new place.

amazingly small coin. Yes I seen you post them before.
Like the badge too.

That Charles hammy is a tiny little thing. Surprised they went to the trouble of producing those. Nice day man!

Still a fair amount of money, this period they were just starting to produce the first copper coinage - Royal/Rose Farthings - Obliviously 2 of those to 1 of these.

THANKS to all those that commented, not sure how much longer we can keep this up.....:dontknow:
