Relic Hunting
As I stated in my last post from Friday, I wanted to get 200 CW relics before the grass gets too high to hunt here in Tennessee. My count was 194 before today. I went to a U.S. Infantry Camp this morning and dug 7 relics in the first pic. The Eagle GS cuff button was the best find there. That got me to my goal but I decided to hunt a completely different U.S. camp in the afternoon. I had been finding .69 cal. 3 ringers & Musket balls there. To my surprise, all I dug was pistol bullets AND another Eagle GS Cuff button in the 2nd pic. Where I hunted today may be the camp HQ or where some cavalry spent time. Twilight on the Cumberland on the way home was a pretty sight.
Quoting Tenn. Digger “You git what you can git”. Enjoy the short video & HH, Quindy.
Johnny Blaze, you are mentioned in the video!!

Nice recoveries Quindy. I'm glad you met your goal. Maybe you can get a couple wooded sites in your rotation and extend your season until it's too hot?

Thanks Steve. Unfortunately, the ticks are already out here & the snakes won't be far behind. HH, Q.

Way to go Quindy! We all knew you would make it. You have had a great spring now find some nice cool woods and old home sites. Take a day off and give the relic rag a rest. Congratulations sir.

Man that would take weeks to unconver that mini ball haha congrats love the cuff button!!!

Congrats on getting over 200 finds this year. I didn't expect anything less.

Very nice:icon_thumright: Congratulations:thumbsup:

Q, I enjoyed that! 200 relics ain't too bad at all. There was no doubt that you would find that much. Do you know how many buttons that you have found this year? It has to be a lot. It don't look like I can get out this week but I'll call you. TD

Donnie, I'd say that I have dug between 25-30 buttons in 2013 and Doug & Josh have dug 25-30 or more each. I'll be home most of the day. Thanks, Q.

:notworthy: WTG Quindy! Never had a doubt that you'd make that goal! I sure hate that the warm weather has arrived. Puts a damper on hunting for sure. Last week I saw two snakes in the back yard. :X Shannon had a photo shoot at an old farm place down the road last Sunday, and they came out all ticky. :tongue3: :laughing7: hahaha
Always enjoy the videos~

DUG, most Union Soldier's coats had 9 to 12 buttons on the front amnd only 2 cuff buttons. So, you are over 5 times more likely to dig coat size eagle buttons vs. a cuff button. What was unusual about yesterday's hunt was that the 2 buttons I dug from 2 different sites were BOTH cuff buttons. Go figure!! HH, Q.

Congrats Buddy!

Thanks Blaze, Steve, John Boy, Richard, JC, Dman, MC, HD, & Nana. These relics get harder to recover each year. Thanks for taking time to reply, Q.
