I got a call from two diffrent banks today that are located in two diffrent towns and both said they could not get me halves anymore due to a change in loomis policy. Neither would tell me in detail what the change was they just apologized alot. Both banks are diffrent companies, Has anyone else heard this from their bank?

Sounds like BS to me. My bank uses Loomis and my boxes came in today no problem. As far as Loomis is concerned I don't think it matters that the coins are for some coin collector or a business. The bank pays them for the boxes either way.

That's what I thought when the first bank called, total BS but when the second bank called and said the same thing ???

You may have thought they said

".....they could not get me halves anymore due to a change in loomis policy"

but I think what they really said was

"PLEASE!!, give me your halves, ALL your halves!!!!!"

Funny. I order coins at one bank, and then dump them at a bank around the corner...the last time I went in, the teller said that the loomis guy said that I was just getting my old dumps back...they also said that the Loomis guy was getting a little tired of haluing my dumps all over the place.

That did not bother me...

OH drat! That he's got some job SECURITY!

Similar thing happened to me but they told me that temporarily the Fed was out of half dollars. I knew that was BS so I went to the same bank but different branch and lo and behold they were able to order them for me. Some banks are friendly toward you and some grow tired of having to deal with you. I have one bank that has been faithful and ordered every week without me reminding them. They know me by name and they are always glad I came.... Ok I will stop from butchering the Cheers song. I have even had a few tellers save some Ike dollars and other old coins without me asking. That is what you need in a bank.

Well the change in Loomis policy is that they are now charging for the delivery of the boxes.
