Went out this morning to a woods site I thought would be good, but only ended up digging clad from 7 inches. That got frustrating and Kimsdad said to come out by them (which was close to where I was).

So I met up with Kimsdad and Watercolor, had a great time, but the finds were slim pickins. Watercolor got the loot there.

My dad kept calling me during the hunt and was itching to get out. He had a site that he's been wanting to go to that he found out was an old railroad station. Well, within about 5 minutes I got my first good target and it ended up being a 1909 wheatie. (Great sign; Chance for Barbers).

I ended up only hunting a 10' by 10' area due to the amount of old coins I was pulling out. I ended up pulling out:
7 wheaties: '09, '14, 2x '19, '19s, '20 & 20d
2 Buffalos: '16, '21
1 Gorgeous '09d Barber dime.

So the day ended up very well. There is a lot of area to cover at this site, and I'm sure it would help to hit it with as many coils as possible.

Kimsdad & Watercolor: Thanks for inviting me over, it's always more fun hunting with someone.

Hey, hook up with us anytime!

Great finds!!!   :icon_king:

Thanks for the call when you got your silver. I needed the excitement! I called Mark right away and let him know, too.

I'm real happy you dug that Barber today. With all the swinging you did, you earned it!

I was hoping you'd pick up a nice big old silver at your spot to carry in your wallet and shine in your dad's eye... Next time for sure! ;D

Next time we can hit this spot. Tons of area to cover, and the more coils out there, the more goodies will pop out!

Great finds Jon! Its always great to see the pics after hearing about them. Like I said earlier I haven't gotten out since Sunday and am itching to go hunting! Let me know if your plans change for Saturday. That new place sounds great!!!

We'll definitely hook up on Sunday.

Nice finds!
Only being able to hunt a 10 x 10ft area because of all the coins is not a bad thing. ;D
Good Luck!

Jon, great hunt!! That Barber is sweet!

I think you found one of those sweet spots where they dumped all the swept trash
from the RR passenger cars :o

Take care!

It very well could be, there is some trash there too. Old trash though. Funny thing is it's on top of a hill too.

Depending on my gf's health, I should be hitting this spot again tomorrow. If she's still sick, I'm out hunting. If she's not, well...she's got some plans soooo.

It would be cool to have you come out these ways one day and help with the harvesting.

PM with me a location, if that's okay with the gang. But since my drive time is dictated by the time I have a car available, I usually stay local on Saturdays and Sundays. A few more mem cents and maybe I can get that stretch Ta Ta Nano with the roof racks for the md's.

I can scoop you up on my way there....just a thought.

Dan, it's well out of the way for you to come down from SG then east into the city. I've gotta get some local dirt covereage anyway and I'll be starting early tomorrow in town here and working a "new" old spot that I've been waiting to get clear on.

Got my pics and maps ready for the Sunday morning gig. Troubling me still is the idea that the Hendemen farm appears due north of the Price site but the topography seems unlikely to afford that possibilty. Then again, it might have been directly where you found the coinage last weekend. Mint dates and lack of housing material seem to negate that however as the farm was long gone in the 1930's. Hitting the actual site should reveal little coinage newer than barber era, post-site incidental drops excluded.
