2 Bullets, 2 Cents, 1 Spoon , & Pottery Giddy Wife
Headed to the ol foundation today soon as kids got on bus. On the way in Got a bullet ( I think newer ) and at one point my detector went nutzo to the point it wouldn't stop at all for nothing and I took it all apart and put it back together & avoided that spot. I thought it had broke it was singing like crazy. Got to site Found what I think to be a cast iron leg to something or possibly a pump handle. Then found what looks to be a wedge. Both are fairly heavy for the size which is hand length. More pottery , lots of white and a nice brown and red glazed piece and a good size piece of a cup that had swirl like groove design with flower on it. Wife was so happy. More nails for the collection
Picked up boy from school at noon (kindergarten) and headed to a picnic spot called Avery's Gore. It's a pull off on side of rd in Cold Mountains that has picnic tables and is by a brook. 4 Pull Tabs , A spike about 10 inchs long , square head old , 1963 Canada Penny , and a Bullet Casing.
Went back to the foundation this afternoon and found a few more nails and just spent time outdoors with kids mostly. Then I decided to do near the stump and I found a large spoon under some large roots. Was missing a piece of the spoon itself but I found that as well. Has lots of rust or corosion , It might be homemade as well as it rather crude looking.
Will have pics up soon. Overall I had a great day and was very happy with my miniscule but incouraging finds.
