2 Bits of Silver - Louis XVI & Victoria
Hi All,
Called at my local farm for everyone's eggs this afternoon. As usual 'Minty' was keeping guard - but not where he should be - He'd already eaten the flower bed, All the Green Beans and by the look of things was about to enter the house!

The farmer was doing some 'Direct Drilling' on some pasture I had already gone over a while back - as always I'd got my detector with me and was hoping the drilling may had moved a few things..
First good find was this Louis XVI little silver 12 Sols coin - can't see the date but it would from 1774 to 1793. Counter-stamped with the number '64'.
Its a shame it's so smooth - Here's a web pic to show how it would have looked:
What ever a French coin from the 1770s was doing in my little town of Belper I'll never know
Also found a little Victorian Groat 1842 just visible -
Other finds were just a couple of buttons, clasp, bit of clay pipe:
and some bits of lead - including 'Enfield' bullet remains:
Looking forward to another couple of hours next week.
Best wishes.
