One thing I do know is the weather man knows nadda. If you're lookin' for that kinda info you have to talk to Glenn (TreasurediggerNY). I do believe he had some kinda divine intervention going this morning :) To say that the weather report looked bleak is an understatement. Well, take whatever they said and reverse it to a PERFECT day and that's what we got. Sun, cool, and a nice breeze.

Glenn was well prepared and brought enough dunkin' donuts to feed an army and plenty of "Joe to Go" to awaken even the sleepiest of hunters before the start of the hunt. With a great deal of sugar and caffeine in our blood systems, we began our ascent in search of silver and gold :) Well, this was a pretty BIG park with some elevation that was made evident by the huffing and puffing by the time we got to where we were hunting :) I think I speak for everyone when I say, we're all out of shape :D

By the time I realized it, everyone had gone in different directions. I climbed a path toward the "summit" and found a nice little green area. Coming off of that was another path and I simply followed it. Just a couple of swings into the path, I got a great signal. I had my video cam in my backpack. Did I take it out? Nah... Dug down about 2 or 3" and found this nice Barber Quarter. I was screaming "SILVER" at the top of my lungs and doin' a little "happy dance" :)

Well, about 2 feet away from there, I got another nice signal that I was sure was silver. Did I take my video cam out of my backpack? Nah.... I dug down and got this puppy :) Here's the cleaned up pics (it was pretty black). My very first Barber dime :)

At this point, I start screamin' "SILVER" again and doin' another little "happy dance". A couple of more swings, no more than a foot away from the Barber dime, I hit another good signal. Did I take my video cam out of my backpack this time? Nah....

Dug down a couple of inches and found a Merc... Where's a 1916 D when you need it? :)

At some point after that, I heard that Ricardo had a "run-in" with the Park Police. Seems he was digging in an area that a "woman" ranger deemed was a "manicured lawn". Ricardo said she was a, well, you can figure out the rest... Anyway, she gave him a violation for, now get this... $250!!!! He took pics of the area and of her truck driving over this "sensitive" manicured lawn as she drove away. Bummer for him... but justice will prevail :)

Pretty soon after that, we all seemed to congregate as one around a picnic area. Glen was well prepared once again and started up the grill he brought with him. Hot dogs, hamburgers.... just what the doctor ordered :)

I apologize guys, but for the life of me, I can't remember your names! (but I'll see you both at the next meeting :) )

I don't know about anyone else, but after all that eating, all I wanted to do was take a nap :) However, we made our way out for the 2nd round of hunting.

Didn't find a heck of a lot after that... just a Rosie that barely made silver :)

All in all, it was one fantastic day! Glenn, thanks so much for putting all of this together! We ALL definitely owe you some bucks for what you layed out!!!

Can't wait to do this again!

HEY JOE G, NOW THAT I SEE YOUR SILVER FINDS I REALLY REALLY REGRET NOT BEING ABLE TO GO.
:BangHead:
FROM THE LOOKS OF IT YOU SKUNKED EVERYONE ON THE SILVER.

I'M GREEN WITH ENVY. BUT THEN AGAIN I DON'T HAVE THE LUCK FOR FINDING SILVER.

HARRY, BRONX REGIMENT.

Hey Harry,

As I told Stormfighter, I just happened to find an area that looked good for many reasons. Worked a small path off that area and found all 3 coins in close proximity to each other. Since they were so close and around the same age, I'd have to guess they were all dropped at the same time. I would think that any machine could have found these as they were pretty shallow. The thing is, having hunted trashy parks dotted with silver (with Ricardo and LI Tom), I know you have to go REAL slow and overlap a lot. Yep, there's silver out there but it's buried between years of trash... it just takes work and a bit of luck to find it. I'd have to say I was pretty lucky :) Maybe I should buy a Mega Millions ticket :)

Wow, you guys! Looks like a GREAT time, with the exception of your run in with the ranger, Ricardo. :( Sorry.

Always great to have hunting buddies! Congrats on those finds!

Nana :)

And Glenn...could that be an ox shoe, maybe? ???

All the tabs payed off with a nice Buffalo! Hey Glenn thank you so much for a great time! Glenn really went above and beyond to put this together and i really had a blast. I tried looking for you so us Fisher swingers could hunt together but you left me to the lab and white guys. The knife looks like the blade of a hand scythe. Used years ago for cutting tall grass etc.

Thanks EZrider,
I'm glad you had a blast, everyone seemed to have had a good time which is why I wanted to do this.

Mrs. TreasurdiggrNY been saying all day, "what are you smirking at?". I told her I was thinking about the hunt  To which she replies ::) lmao

Let's swing it up man, anytime, it's starting to stay light out until almost 8, you work close to me so I think an after-work hunt is in order.

Talk to you soon,
Glenn

Looks like you guys had a blast...I'll have to try and make it out next year...
Sorry to hear about Ricardos run-in...250$ ???....Now we know where they're getting the money to harass GoldFever...sounds like you got a good case Ricardo, hope you beat it...

Would like to come up and join you folks one year. Last time my people got into the woods with a bunch of Yankees, it didn't work out so well for us!

Rick! Shame on you for hunting such an obviously manicured lawn! :) I can see that thoses dandelions were carefully planted and the lawn edging was perfectly done. I especially love the special touch of the tire tracks :D

Man did you say DUNKIN DOUGHNUTS??????? I love them but can't get them around here anymore. They have that other brand of crap here and in the St. Louis area. I really miss The DDs!

Oh yeah your hunt looked like fun short of the PoPo coming and writing tickets.....
