This bentwood rocker has been in my family at least 80 years. Just got it from my sister. Web searches have not yielded any pics of any similar chairs. Noting how small it is I am guessing it was made in the 19th century prior to our population becoming supersized. It is very elegant and simply made. I believe the wood is hickory but not positive. The arms actually have a compound bend to them. Very unusual. The left arm where your hand would rest is partially delaminated but still sound. It has a few other obvious signs of wear and use but nothing terrible. Does any one know anything about this chair or where I could find more information?

Thanks in advance!

Reed

I did a "Google Lens" photo search and saw many that look just like your chair, trying search for "Michael Thonet style bentwood rocker" or "Shaker style bentwood rocker"

Here's few of them.
