Pictures are up!
First up I went to a sale on Saturday. I bought:
A massive ~100lb post leg vice for $25. Worth ~$275
A large wagon vice from 1800s (probably civil war era or before) for $50. Worth ~$175-200 at least.
An anvil vice for $35. Its a small anvil... with a vice. Probably worth ~$100 but I will probably add it to my collection(I have like 5 anvils right now).
Went to a guy's house today who is moving and selling a ton of stuff. I bought:
A 195 pound anvil for $200. The back part where the hardy holes are is broken so that cuts the price some. Still a beautiful anvil besides that. Probably will be able to get at least $2.5 a pound so $487.
5 huge pieces of petrified wood. Large red/rainbow pieces from Arizona probably and a couple beautiful wind worn brown pieces from Wyoming. One of the red ones is a massive log that weighs probably 200+ pounds. It is bigger than the anvil and I had to use a dolly to move it. The other pieces range from 40 pounds to 120 pounds. Got them for $16 a piece or $80 total. If I find the right buyer I could get well over $1k for them because of the size and color.
All of these pictures were taken with a 1 liter bottle for scale.
This one is ~100 pounds and has a great rainbow color. From Arizona most likely.
This next one has nots in the wood from where limbs were. Super rare.
These next 2 are from Wyoming. They are wind polished which means they were sitting on the surface for hundreds of years while the wind slowly polished them. These have some amazing bark and wood veins on them still as I show in one of the close ups.
This is the start of the 2nd one.
Last up is the biggest one. It is a deep beautiful red and has to weigh at least 200 pounds. I didn't get pictures of one of the sides because I didn't feel like being able to turn it over! It still has some very nice bark as well.
