It was cold and the ground was frozen in some places but I was able to find a couple of lipstick "cases" from the 1930s the smaller one had the manufacturers name on it. "Richard Hudnut" that's how I was able to ID it.

Richard Hudnut made quality cosmetics. I found this makeup tin made by them. As is always the case, I was sure that there was a little stash of silver dimes in there, but as is always the case, it was empty.

Congrats on finding anything in the cold!

I dunno why, but I never get tired of finding those old lipsticks and cosmetics (rouge, etc...) containers. I guess because they have the "feel" of personal items losses ? Ie.: if you're going to loose something like THAT out of your purse, then so too could you loose coins :) Ie.: a "personal effect" rather than an industrial junkage thing.
