Hello!
After sleeping in until about 10:am today, my wife & I decided to go on a county drive today. The weather was mostly OK ~ just a few rain showers.
We ended up in Junction City Oregon for lunch ~ and I wanted to find a place to detect. There's a little city park there called Washburn Park. I've detected it years ago when I first got into metal detecting ~ I never found much there, just pocket change. But today one of the first targets I dug there was a 1927-S Mercury dime! After an hour or so the targets got scarce so we decided to head back to the Eugene area. I headed to the University district. Here's a list of everything I dug today:
1927-S Mercury Dime
4 wheats ~ 1942, 1944, 1949, & 1955
9 clad quarters
19 clad dimes
5 nickels
35 memorial cents
I took pictures of the Merc dime before 7 after I gently cleaned it up. This is my silver coin find #18 for 2009. Also, I took a close-up picture of the date area (just for the fun of it).
Thanks for looking!
Neil
