Don't you just love it when you find a really cool coin and check the hole and you still get the same signal? That is exactly what happened this evening. I can honestly say that I have never had a decent coin spill but I believe this qualifies. I was covering an area of a yard that i am attempting to grid in downtown of the city where I live, and got a faint pulltab signal on my ACE 250. I dug down and saw green stained dirt on the bottom of the plug, which is a good sign that you are digging a coin. I looked in the bottom of the hole and there was a nickel! I started filming, and revealed that it was a 1918! ***(for those of you that do not know, any buffalo nickel dug with a date is extremely rare, 90% of the nickels before 1929 had the dates rubbed off)*** As I shut the camera down, and began to flip the plug back in the hole, I saw ANOTHER coin screaming at me in the bottom of the plug. It was silver! I was super excited, so I got my camera out and caught the reveal of a 1918 San Francisco minted silver dime in EXCELLENT condition! I read in my coin book that 1918s was the lowest mintage for that year, and it is considered a "better date." As I finished the video I got a fire call so I filled the hole, responded, and did not check my hole. I will be checking it asap tomorrow!
Enjoy the video, and i hope you folks enjoy the pictures! I had a killer day with the button I found and both of these cool coins!
