Looks like it is in fairly good shape for being in the ground. Modern day zinc pennies would not have lasted half as long. Very nice find.
 

Nice work, but you could stop someone's heart posting "1916 D" like that (if Merc). :-)

A little smaller and more silver would have really been nice! Bet you might find some silver there!!!

All over America, and even in other lands, hearts are returning to their normal rhythm. Using the moniker "1916-D" is like yelling "fire" in a movie theater :). Nice detail on the coin, though.
