Got up early this morning and revisited a yard that I hunted my first year with my bounty hunter :unhappysmiley: Found some wheats and relics there including the sterling salt shaker lid and trick nickel. On the way home going down some dirt roads I stopped and asked permission to hunt a small yard that looked pretty old. The 16 merc was the only old coin I found in that yard! I didn't realize it had the mintmark until on my way home I stopped and poured some water on the back and checked it with a magnifier. Couldn't believe my eyes for a minute. I got out of my car, shouted a few praises towards the heavens and headed for home. When I got home my wife told me that she prayed for me after I left asking God to surprise me today with good treasure! Thank you sweetie and thank you Lord! Hope the pics work with the new software and this site. Thanks for looking all....HH, Griff.

Awesome find, I will vote banner for your rare merc!

Way to go griff. your nickel is a "squirter" submerse it in water, squeeze and release, take out, look at backside and squeeze, you'll get an eyeful of water. there is a small hole in the word "of" that's where it squirts from. I found mine about 20 years ago at Elizabeth Park in Trenton, Michigan..........NGE

Wow! A lifetime of finds just in that one hunt! Excellent!!
