I'm new to detecting & been using the Bounty Hunter sharp shooter 2. I have about 20 hours with it & been finding a lot of clad coins & it's just been a fun experience so far, any coin makes me happy. Today I went to a local lake where there was a large saw mill in the early 1900's and found this 1906 indian head, it's my 1st and man was I excited. HH!!

Nice looking penny. Nice to bet one where you can read a date.

Nice find! It took me 9 years to find my first Indian. It was also a 1906 but not nearly as nice as yours.

Keep digging there you should find some old silver coins too

Thats killer. I have only found one. Didnt kn8w untill I started cleaning it. I was saying to myself this dosent look like Lincoln

Welcome to T Net!
Great find and it's in awesome shape too! Won't be long before the old silver will start rolling your way, and gold!
Congrats! HH!

Very nice find, I love the design of those old pennies.

Dustytrails123, I'm sure there is silver at that location. Most of it is probably where the workers slept in their cottages that no longer exist. I detected at the lakes park and saw a lot of private property signs driving to the lake and even saw a guy detecting in his front yard. The park is about 15 acres so I'll try and make it last.

Thanks for the welcome MsBeep. Can't wait to find a silver, that would be cool! Didn't know this coin was in such good condition. Thanks for the comments and HH to you all...

Very nice recovery, I would be wearing that place out if I were you. There's bound to be many more. Can't wait to see what else you uncover. Best of luck.

FYI ...Cleaning any further will devalue the copper cent. You can google (1906 lincoln cent) to find value.
