You are on a roll. Its more than I have found in the past month. But then again, my ground is all frozen....I will have to wait until spring......

Found this today before it started snowing to hard anyone know if its worth anything at all?

I'll tell you this. It would be worth a MINT! If it had been uncovered by me and sit proudly in my collection.

That help any? ;)

Good save!

Haha this was my 3rd day every metal detecting I have found this quarter and a civil war bullet and a 1876 USA dime. And A bunch of other stuff but those are my neat finds

Your third day out was better than most years I've had detecting - I have never found a Barber quarter , or a seated dime in 8
years of detecting ! What is it worth ? look for a mint mark under the eagle's tail feathers ,even in lower grades it looks like
a $15.00 coin could be a bit better - Argentium.

That just makes it worth all the more. If I had found that on my 3rd time detecting, I would still have it in my collection, just about half a century later. :)

It might also make think this was a simple hobby. just wander around and pick up all those old, silver coins. ;)

Good job!

What exactly would a mint mark look like? I am very new to the game, but also very interested. Any information you have or tips you have would be very appreciated

Mint mark is an initial D or S - For Denver or San Francisco ,No visible mintmark would indicate that it was minted in Philidelphia .
Mint marks matter because coin values are related to two factors - 1. original mintage figures 2. condition . Argentium.

I'm not seeing a mint mark on mine. Still pretty excited about finding it though. Still have any value with no mint mark?

Welcome to T Net, looks like you have a great place to do your searching. Keep going like you are, and yes, the coin is from Philly, but if it was one of my finds, the price in the the book wouldn't make any difference, because it wouldn't be for sale at any price. A guy just has to have some "eat your heart out" stuff. My wife has been known to say, "If you found a 50 pound gold nugget, it wouldn't do us a bit of good, you wouldn't sell it, it would prop the screen door open and you'd say look what I found, eat your heart out," and she's right. After all, stuff is important, and you have started finding good stuff. Congratulations.
