1904 Tale of a Madison County Farm Full of Hidden Gold, Nobody could find

I wonder if this story has slipped through the cracks...
Perhaps an old ... "Remained overlooked" by THrs till even now...
OR because of "rural" etc....
OR no electronics have made a sweep yet due to beings somewhere where "no one really does it OR hasn't there" situation...

Jeff this article may be the "light" on a forgotten spot.

This could be a...
"virgin permission in waiting".

PS> It would be interesting to talk with a few local elders around town...
See if any of them "ever heard of the man and his story"...
Hear what they have to say if anything about "whatever".

I will be doing talking to some of the locals tomorrow when I head, I will have an update this weekend. Three 80's is 240 acres that his father gave him, I did some research and it is a pioneer saying. Also have found out that he was an expert gunsmith, and everyone wanted to use one of his guns during shooting contests. Even if there is no good, it would be interesting to find a gun.

Guess I will update this thread. I have locate the property and been given permission to detect and have been there twice now. Nothing found.... YET.
Chamness Sr sold his property and bought the one north of Orestes. Correct?
Sr gave JR the land just west of Alexandria. So where exactly is this land located because old plat books aren’t doing me any luck so far.

I am down to hit it this summer with anyone that will let me tag along. I will bring snacks or buy lunch! LOL
