I was wondering why it has a gold tint too it? Could it be fake? Or were they made that way at some point..

Hope everyone has a great hunt this weekend! :laughing7:

They where never minted like that..

My cousin has a pin on one of her jackets, a 1903 IH cent, plated in gold, and set in a bezel. Perhaps this came from something along these lines.

Both seem like possibilities, gold plated would be nice though! Haha thanks guys

Last year, I bought a box of junk from a coin dealer, and in the bottom of the box was a handful of plated IH cents, very much like the one you have.

These coins were authentic coins that had been plated and polished, and sold as a subscription service. You've seen the ads..."Buy these 110 year old Indian Head Cents...never to be minted again...just $9.99 plus $6.99 shipping. Cancel any time. Offer strictly limited to 10 offers per person."
