Can you post a picture of the top end, is it open, does it have threads inside or is it closed on the end opposite of the pointed end.Also where was this found in a drawer, a wall, the ground, the barn,or in a sewing machine cabinet or cupboard, a little more info may help to stir some ideas as to what it is.

I'm not sure how to tag this as "solved." I've seen the option somewhere before but can't seem to find it now. The only way I see to mark something as solved is when starting a new thread.

I would have been all excited having a metal item inside a wdn cntr. The sewing thing is neat but I wish it would have been a large roll of Gold coins for ya. Nice find none the less.
