My wife and I went to some antique stores today in a very Colonial town. We both agreed that the one we visited was the best yet. My main goal while in these stores is to locate items that represent the 18th century. I consider this my hobby in the winter months. :laughing7:

I bought two Riker display cases for a great price. I got a 12" X 16" for only $6.50. After we got home, I put them to great use. My goal was to make a display case that depicted the 18th century. I also made up a smaller display case for my wife's friend's husband. The last time we were at their house, he was showing us some of his curio cabinet collection of different items (fossils, arrowheads, etc.). I am going to present him with this later in the week and I know he will definitely enjoy it. I put two Colonial musketballs, an Archaic arrowhead, and two Colonial buttons in the case.

Keep the passion high!

Kirk :hello:

I liked the display so much I just ordered some Riker Mounts myself!

Good luck! Those things seem to get smashed pretty easy in the mail. About half of an order I had were broken but I couldn't fault the seller because they were packed better than how I would have sent them!

I bought mine at an antique store and I know there are a lot more of them for a decent price. I hope you gets yours in pristine condition, Neil. I am glad to have inspired you. I wish I could say the same for Kyle and Chris. :laughing7:

very nice displays, the one thing that instantly drew my attention was that George Washington coin..

It is a 1793 George Washington Ship Halfpenny. It was dug at a Colonial site in 2007.
