Found this ring in a local swim hole it's my best ring find so far. I'm not sure what the f4 mark means but it fits me and its a keeper. It was in about knee deep water and about 8 inches in the clay. I just got into water hunting this year, and my detector has paid for itself already. Thank you treasurenet and all it's members for all the insight I have gleaned over the years from these threads. Happy hunting

Its FG...Its the makers mark...Frederick Goldman...they make the G kinda funny...congrats on an outstanding find.

Great looking trophy. That is a real nice find. Congratulations. Gold and platinum are getting harder to find especially all in one ring.

I was told the F4 deals with the bevel or shape of the ring......I could be wrong.

Thanks for the info lookindown, and the ring weighs 5.5 grams. I once found a huge 10k ring about 14 grams but it wasn't as pretty as this one. I've been hitting the water for about a week now that I have a water detector and I have found a lot of jewelry. I started detecting six years ago and already this week I have found more gold in all the six years put together.

That is a sweet ring! Sounds like your doing pretty good! Here in Japan, mixed 18K and Platinum rings are fairly common, I've found 3 this year, but are rare in the states. That's what makes your find so awesome. Great job!

Nice find.

Congrats on your plat/18k, I found the same ring in august on Cape Cod. Surprised it's only 5.5 grams. The ring I found is 11.9 grams size 9.5. It was my first plat. WTGImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1477451343.820920.jpg
