1887 Mexican Half Dollar found in Cincinnati/Police Button

I found what appears to be a half dollar that has been transformed into a medallion. I found the Cincinnati Police button lterally sitting on top of the coin. The police button is probably the same age as the coin which makes it interesting. I can't believe the handy work of the skillfull artisan who made it.

I found a similar piece last year in a local park parking lot. Mine was cut from a 5 Deutschmark coin.

Hey bud nice find on the Silver Coin.
I wonder what kind of technology they had back then to cut that coin out like that.
I have been to state fairs and have known other people at flea markets that use a laser to do that and sell the coins as art or jewelry.

If that was painstakingly done by hand they did a good job.

I would love to add a coin like that to my collection any day and way to go on your find.
Nice old button too, looks to be in pretty darn good shape.
