I finally got out today . :) I started at a roman site and after three hours of mountian searching I gave up for easier hunting in the valley. I found a nice 1885 silver one mark . The first one that I have found here and a nice silver wedding band. I also found a musket ball and a neat pin that has a horse shoe with a whip wrapped around it. I have been doing battle with the scanner for an hour and I have gave up for now. It keeps giving errors. Hope I can figure out what is wrong with it. I will try to get some pics up later. Hope all is well and HH.

Smartin, I work on Ramstein but live in Sulzbachtal (stright down 270 from KTown. ) I am not sure about the Golden Nugget.LOL

Nice find! Tsgman

Nice looking 1 MARK.I bet that made your day! Did you find it before or after you dug the lucky horseshoe? Nice ring and relics also.Sounds like the weather is getting better for you to get out in. Best of luck to you! HH!

Birdman,
Tom's Golden Nugget used to be a sports bar a few klicks from the base, just up from Burger King on right. Anyway, if you get a chance, go to Bexbach. There alot of digg'n to do there.

Be careful in removing that dry powder. Wet it's pretty much harmless but dry it could be volatile. Use a copper probe or something that won't spark to pry it out. I pried some black powder out of some .41 Colt rimfire ammo over 100 years old once and it still exploded when I touched a match to it. Blew up a glass ashtray and singed my fingers but no serious damage thank goodness! Monty

I have been trying to lighten my load so I can take more home. The biggest thing is the Bell that was mad from a 500 pound bomb. It weighs 174 pounds. I not sure if I can get that back because it may require a pallet. I have been sending boxes home along the way also. My first year here I did a lot of flea markets and bought all kinds of junk .Old irons ,bottles shell casings ect. I am trying to send it throughthe mail little by little. The Cannonon ball I may have to hide with the pots and pans.LOL ;)

put it in a bowling ball bag.... ::)
