1858 Silver Coin

I’ve been revisiting an old Southern Maine cellar hole for about a week and a half. I was pretty sure the site was 1800’s and and after today I’m absolutely sure. First time finding silver!

I’ve known the poster and her family since she was about 3 years old. All I’m going to say is, the hobby of metal detecting has now been forever changed! Congratulations on your first silver, can’t wait to come visit for our first hunt together!

Can't wait either! Thanks for letting me know about this site😊

That's got to be a Banner Canadian coin. One year only, unique denomination, and fairly low mintage? My vote is in.

Congrats on the nice silver! :icon_thumleft:

Congrats she's a beauty

Great detail and a coin on any Canadians bucket (or should be).

I see you are new to Tnet so I’m not going to waste time voting banner but I’ll tell you straight up that this would 100% get my vote if it could. Well done!
