Hi all. It's been a while since I've had something that I have been so excited that I needed to post it... But I think I have just that today. I went out to my favorite spot of late where I found three silvers and a number of wheats over the past month. I decided to try a tree line that I hadn't done thoroughly yet- so off I went taking my time going slowly and listening carefully to everything that my detector was telling me. Anything repeating I dug. After a few clad quarters I got a great 84 on my AT Pro at six inches- this turned out to be a beauty of a 1927 Merc. I would have been very happy with just that- but just five minutes later and about 10 feet away I got what I believed was a zinc Penny signal - but it too was at six inches- couldn't be an Indian, right?! Sure enough, out pops a crusted over brown IHC. I assumed that it would be an early 1900s coin as the house was built near the turn of the century- and because I couldn't read the date I just put it in my pouch and kept going. When I got home I started cleaning with soap, water and an old toothbrush. The first numbers I could make out were "18." Cool! Older than I thought. Next a 7... Could it be? I just had another look under the loupe- and almost dropped it. Have a look. I'm taking my time cleaning it and will post updates later. Thanks for looking!
Is that another "7?"
