Drove 80 miles to the yard of a house built in 1914. The yard was small and I did not find much. Three wheaties, early dates, and this 1876 Seated Quarter. I got a clear 85 signal on my whites and there it was at 5 inches. I at first thought it was a SLQ, so I stuck it in my pocket and moved on. Later, on the way home, I glanced at it and thought maybe I'd just found a slug. Imagine my thrill when I got home, cleaned off the dirt, and saw what I really found. The pic does not show the date well, but it is clearly visable. The coin really is worn down, but I'll take it, never thought I would ever find a seated coin. A great find and it makes the 80 miles a worthwhile trip.

WOW that is one worn seated. I bet that was a pocket piece for a long time. Great find man...Well done!!!

Congrats on the silver quarter!!! Love those Seated coins!!

Way to go!!!!

It has been a good number of years since I found a seated coin, and even longer since finding a CC.

Very Nice! I saw one of these in my grandad's coin collection around 20 years ago. No idea where the collection is now.

Congratulations and drive 90 miles and maybe you'll find two SQ's next time...hehehe
