I just came across some coins that I've had packed away for a couple of decades. My Mom gave me them and I think they came from her Dad. My favorite one is a 1873 Indian Head penny that does not have the wreath/one cent on the reverse. It has a design like wallpaper. It has 2 flowers that have round blossoms and some trim/border that is random. I tried to google some information but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know what happened to this coin?! Thanks for your help 121.JPG123.JPG124.JPG

That this was done to a 1873 inclines me to believe that it is probably period. It also appears to very intricate and beautiful work. I have no problem seeing why it would be your favorite piece. Thanks for sharing.

Definately not a trade token. I'd guess that was a resume for an engraver to be handed out as an example of their work. That is very well done.

Possibly "Hobo Art" but the 1873 date is between Trade Token era and the Depression. I think it was 1¢ worth of metal and easily available for practice or as a demo.
