I went back today to last years farm, "the farm where nothing can be found". Refresher, the farmer told me last year I would not find anything here. Here is a couple pix, I believe to the day a year ago at one of the spots on this farm I was at today ( one last year and one from today/cut)

I went and looked in a spot on the farm to start where I had not been last year finding these two things, the one being some kind of button, the other some kind of clip. I ended up going back near the one cellar hole where last year I found a nice 1859 Fatty IHC and numerous buttons. I ended up with a 1923 Wheat, a button with the thread still on it, 1860 Fatty IHC, blowhole button, and a couple other nic knacks.
Enjoy the pix

Looking for an education here, what time frame or period are blowhole buttons?

Nice finds, I had a lady tell me last summer I wouldn't find anything in her yard, she laughed at me and said go right ahead! I walked 5 feet and eyeballed a coin just before my coil when over it, sticking half out of a small bare patch in the grass was a 1910 wheat. I found several in her yard along with about 10.00 in clad.

I've got a few Fatty's, always toasted. That ones sweet :icon_thumright:
The clip looks to be a watch clasp. Found one like this in Dec. Yours looks like it would serve the same function.Watch Clasp.jpg

Nice to see your still killing it in the fields Brad.

Great finds looks like that farmer was wrong!!!!! Plus your keeping the soil turned for him lol Thanks for the post!!!!!

Nice saves. I love finding Indians.:icon_thumright:

I'm not the one to ask but the way I understand it a late one would be from 1730's?

Thanks Tex

Thank you, the soil here is very sandy, it's very nice to these old fatties. In this area of south Jersey we have the largest deposits of glass sand in the world. (There were many glass factories nearby.

Right on Brad, I was hoping to see your latest post!!! Looks like a good hunt :)
Thanks Ken, you'll like this spot.

Thank you, what's he know he doesn't even detect, he told me his family hit it for years.

I love it when I see a fatty pop out of the dirt, I found one this fall earlier that makes that one look toasty, check it out. Same thing different site but same kind of sandy south jersey soil.

love that you got a date on the fatty. Buttons are awesome too. How did you clean the IHC? I just dug two and wanted to clean them better but couldn't get them to look that good. Please advise.
