Greetings Everyone,

I was happy to get out in the woods yesterday for some quality stress management time. After wandering around for a solid 90 minutes with nothing to show ( except for a few bullets, a musket ball, and assorted other junk), I got a super loud, super high signal. My first guess was a can lid, but with a little digging I popped out a nice 1848 large cent. It's not in the greatest shape, but I'll take it. This was my third large cent for the season, so I was quite pleased with that.

Best wishes to all! Stay safe, and keep digging! Scott.

Nice find. Congrats

Nice large copper. Congrats!..... Just a random thought. All of the large cent types had such elegant hairdos. Braided hair... draped bust... Liberty cap... flowing hair... If I had a time machine I would travel back in time to the late 1700s/early 1800s and throw some other ideas out there. I feel like the "Mullet" or the "bowl cut"... or maybe just a regular "pony tail" are very under-represented in the coin world. Or maybe I just watched a few too many iterations of the "Deep Thoughts with Jack Handy" skit on Saturday night live. These are the thoughts that go through my head folks. Welcome to my world. :occasion18:
