I haven’t been out detecting much this fall but with a busy work season upon me I figured I’d give it a last go while I still can. I went to a place I hit earlier in the summer and found a colonial site randomly in the woods that gave up a load of early large coppers, buttons and shoe buckles. I didn’t have long but I hit the area as hard as I could and even though I think I found all the large coppers last time I did find some old silver I knew had to be there somewhere. It was a nice 1834 William IV six pence plus a couple of shoe buckles, two buttons, pewter spoon bowl and a tiny thimble. One shoe buckle is perfectly complete with the guts and all. To bad the decorative one wasn’t as well. Since the wooded area is pretty much totally hunted out now I’ll give the spot another go in the early spring in the big untouched open grassy field section when the long grass is totally flat. Thanks for looking! [emoji16][emoji106]

Nice finds! I got a William IV penny a couple months ago, but you don't see KWIV coins too often.

I think he was only around for 7 years. So he only had coins 1830-1837 I believe. I’m for sure glad I got found it! [emoji16][emoji106]

Yep, the only sixpence minted during the reign of KWIV were 1831, 34, 35, 36, and 37. Good find, go get the rest.

Great old silver and a shoe buckle to die for! Congrats on it all! Those shoe buckles are really something when found complete!!!

Hunted out my ass, that site is still producing buddy! :occasion14:

Look forward to seeing what you find in the spring.
