Yippy- This is my oldest silver to date. It was about 7 inches in the hole when I saw it. Unfortunately I couldn't help but rub the dirt off to see what the heck it was because I had no idea. I thought is was some kind of train token, as you can clearly see I scratched it-bummer. Found the indian head in the same area. Thanks for looking.

Awesome! On my wish list. Congratulations on a Stellar coin. Hogge

Great looking coin, we've all been guilty of scratching a coin or two by rubbing, looks like a great lesson learned!! Sweet find no matter how many scratches!!

That is a tough coin to pull out of the ground my friend! I've never seen one up close, so I was surprised at how small they are!

That is a damn nice find, Lostlake!! :o :o :icon_king:

That is a serious find!!You do not see many capped silver's posted. It is so very hard to resist the urge to rub, especially, when you don't know what you have.We have ,almost all, done it,much to our regret.Big congrats on that coin.HH

Wow... excellent coin! I've got a few in my collection with the rub spots.
Then I started carrying a small prescription bottle about ¾ full of water in my pouch.
I find a coin that I'm tempted to rub to see what it is, and drop it into the
bottle of water and keep on detectin for another 10 minutes or so, and then
take a look at it after the it's soaked in the water... tra la!!! No more scratches.
Plus, you can keep your coin or coins in the water until you get home, and they
wont get damaged in your goody pouch or wherever you keep the goodies till you
get home.
