1826 LC

Saturday BedfordBob and I were out attempting to find a new CW camp.... unfortunately without success. I think I dug about 20 shotgun shells... the only bullet that I found was a loaded 30-06 cartridge.

What we each had success in was finding coppers... and any day with a Large copper is a good day in my book.

Here is mine - it was in the middle of the woods with nothing else around it. It was only 2 inches deep, the signal was so loud that I thought it was going to be an aluminum can. I like this kind of surprise! It does make one wonder why they would beat up the edge like that...

Someday soon I will go back and really scour that area and see if there are more!

The picture of the back was before the peroxide treatment, only washed with water.

Now if this rain would stop then I could go searching for that camp....

Possibly they hammered the sides because it was a love/hope token and they did not want to spend it? I have found waffled silver that people said were love/hope tokens. Just my idea behind it.
