I dug this beauty today at a former homesite. It is an 1820 Capped Bust dime, possibly the “StatesOf” America version. I missed this coin on previous searches, but found it today going slow with a small coil. It seems to have little wear, so it must not have been in circulation too long. This is now my oldest U.S. silver coin. Also found 10 buttons, several of which are marked “Imperial Standard.” Thanks and good luck out there!

Congrats. She is in great shape, especially for being over 200 yrs old

Additionally….pretty sure that is a “small o” version of the coin.
Thanks for the comment and your opinion about the type. I was not sure about the small or large “0” type. Right now I am trying to learn about the “statesof” America version, as the wording does look tight on this one.

Definitely a statesofamerica variety. I think it would grade if you sent it in unless you’ve cleaned it. I think it would make F-12. That would make it a $600 coin according to my 2024 Redbook. And that book is already outdated so you could probably add a few more dollars. Great find for sure!👍🏻

Yes your coin is the STATESOFAMERICA

Congratulations on the great looking silver.
Certainly the top shelf recovery of the season.

Thanks for the comment and info. Define clean😁. I soaked it in distilled water only and gently wiped it off with a cotton swab; no cleaners, baking soda, toothpaste, electrolysis, etc. I did no harm that I could see, at least with the naked eye. I have no intention of selling the coin, but it is nice to know it has value. Thanks again!
