I got back to the old mill site that I dug the 1776 half reale at last week. I have also found a Hibernia copper, some Large Cents and a Half Cent, some nice buckles. This time there were no tombacs, but still some goodies. One of these buttons is pewter. It is falling apart and wont last more than a few weeks.

The large buckle was under a thick tree root and took a lot of work to get to. It is not a shoe buckle. What kind of buckle is it, and what time period? I don't think it's colonial.

I am also wondering what the oval button-like object with two holes is. It was more than 12 inches deep but the T2 didn't miss it!

The Indian is from last week. It has great detail!

nice finds!

Great Finds! That site has been awesome for you! Hope you make some more great finds from there!

Hi Neil, That buckle looks like the typical horse tack that I find around this area in all shapes and sizes. My guess is mid-to-late 1800's. Nice LC--looks similar to the way they come out of the ground here. I have a great (potential) site for you that I need some help with--drop me a line when you get a chance.

Regards, Erik

Nice finds, Neil. The Indian is in amazing shape!

No clue about the oval item with 2 holes. Before I enlarged the photo I thought maybe a dog ID tag, but definitely not that. Hmm... :icon_scratch:

I love that LC. Nice indian too. A good XF coin.

The oval looks about the same size and shape as a colonial cufflink but I haven't seen one with two holes like that

Nice Largue Cent ...congrats ! :icon_thumleft:

Nice digs Neil!

Congrats on the LC and other cool relics. Looks like a good spot, wish you some more good luck there!
