Picture heavy and post
Finally had a whole day for a bit of hunting.
(Annual BD hunt)
So I headed off to see a permission that had called me up about the back tire of the backhoe falling into a cellar hole. In the side yard, 4ft down and 6ft further in was the wall.
I wanted to drop off a big Angus beef roast to the Mrs.(a thank you for digging their dirt)
Going to wait till they dig it out, instead of being buried. Been there done that one, so I'm on the speed dial.

So now the hunt from a hard hit site.
I have gotten a few nice tokens and buttons from this cellar hole.
Though the last 2 return hunts hasn't turned out well.
So I didn't have the Deus, so I put batteries in the old Etrac this past week and renewed an old friendship.
I got a musket ball out of the spring, and flat button from another section so I thought well I'm not skunked.
I was going to a dump to dig tins and glass and that never happened.
I went back up the hillside towards the cellar hole and got a repeatable in the iron.
Dug out a iron shackle looking piece, a few nails, still it was down deeper.

Next came a strange one. Figured it out later looking at the picture in better light.
A half of a pair of scissors. Sort of a different find, not sure on the age.

Next find was another token, holed, looks like a weak counter strike. It has an X on the other side, worn smooth, but still has character.

Got a few buttons and a tin and wondered what was inside, had weight, but you're going to have to wait.

So the next token wasn't loved, don't know why.
Poor thing was beat, folded, beat some more.
Still haven't been able to figure it out yet.

The site is challenging with steep Bank, ground cedar.

A little guy popped up in the plug of soil.
20210414_151041.jpg
Just some pretty growing down by the spring

Oh ya the tin. It didn't rattle so I took it home.
2 pair of channel locks and there is the hoard.

Probably it has been the longest post up I have done in many moons. (Time allowed me to)
Thanks for looking

Nice finds Pepperj. I like that token.

Thanks Trezurehunter
The soils were kind as it sees no harshness like the field ones.

Nice hunt  Very cool Toke!
Thanks Steve
I had a good laugh at the "Very cool Toke" reply.
How did you know it came from the toke growing site? Last summer I kept smelling the familiar whiffs of pot, go to the top of the cellar hole rise and there were plants everywhere.
Another return hunt I hit harvest day, so I went for a long walk about through the bush trails and let them do their cropping.

Awesome save! That’s in good condition too!

Awesome finds and a great poster you are.

I am glad you had a happy annual birthday hunt, Pepperj and I wish you many more of them! The token is cool! I dug up a toad once. It was late fall. Surprised the heck out of me. Congratulations on all the finds!

Well thank you for the well wishes
It's kind of weird seeing a toad pop up when digging-it's like what are you doing disturbing my snooze.:laughing7:
