I bought this coin 2 days ago for $2.00 from a guy who says he don't like any coins only Civil War relics. So, I say to each is own and yes I will pay $2.00 for that. Thank you!..... Any suggestions for cleaning it? Mike

Mike, the Pm I sent you earlier today is the best way to clean the coin with out damaging the coin...

Im assuming thats the peroxide method, as thats the best way to go on this one!

I have cleaned quite a few old coppers, and looking at yours my best advice is to leave it as is. You are more likely to lose detail with any further cleaning on that copper. I only clean them enough to ID them. I found the Large Cent pictured over the summer, and soaked it just enough to get a date.
