Few keepers for the day from an old homestead. Few nice buttons and a plated brass ring. The ring is marked either 10k or 18k. In hand looks like 18 in the photo it looks like 10. I wonder if the people who bought it knew it was only plated. Thanks for looking.
AWESOME LC! i got one but its toast, no readable date, cant read liberty above the head, all u can see is the silhouette facing right and the 1/100 on the back. Yours is in awesome shape!
Hey brother! Congrats on the Draped Bust LC! That's probably my favorite US coin. The Draped Bust design was gorgeous. Very nice buttons as usual and the thimble is icing on the cake. I went out with my buddy NJLargeCent today, but we didn't do as well as you. I did however find my first heel plate (with a heart design)--my first in 13 years of detecting so that was a bit exciting, but no old coins or buttons. You're doing great!!
Thanks everyone. The last week or so has been from 2 sites not too far from each other. I've know about them for a while just haven't had the time to get up there. Since I found the dime and the machins I've been almost everyday. Always good seeing that draped bust come out of the ground. It has some great detail and should clean up nicely.
AWESOME! There is TOO much stuff at that middle site for coins NOT to be there. There is definitely more. Plus it's a big tract of land. Post the LC after ya peroxide it. I'll ID the variety. GOOD 1..........Hogge
very nice stuff but what really caught my Eye was the button with the "anchor" (hope thats the Word in English) as i have found one very similar here in sweden with the marking SA. French New York on the backside.
Those plated rings from that era are commonly found marked as gold. I've dug several of them over the years including the one pictured below. Still a cool find.
