1803 Gold Counterfeit Update - Possible US Mint Pattern Or Test Coin

A friend of mine who has some knowledge of coins, suggested that the coin I found could be a US mint pattern or test coin for the 1803 five dollar gold half eagle, or the 2 1/2 dollar quarter eagle. I'm going to email some pictures to an expert and see what he thinks.

I am such an idiot.......I am a rabid coin junkie and can't believe I didn't think of that......test patterns on copper......I hope it is, and if it is, what a find.....keep us updated.....

I believe there was a Pattern 1/2 Eagle in Copper made w/ a 1803 date.

It's Judd #27, & Pollock #6045.


Here's hoping its a real one!!!
