Went back to the farm across the road for 1 1/2 hrs today. Its a place that I can hunt any time because I help out on the farm.I have posted a couple times about it but dont really have alot of time there yet.In the front yard I dug a 39 wheat at 4 inches and this thing which I think is a brooch type pin at 6-7 inches.I think it looks like there was a pin soldered to the back.I also think is made of copper, there is no rust or corrosion on it.It looks old to me but might not be.What do you all think. My guess is 1940s.

Thanx for lookin, jimmy

Nice jimmy, that old thing is in the style of the 1800's. You said it was deeper and that is where those old coins are too. Dig those weak iffy signals, you should pull up a coin doing that.

Jimmy!!!

Such a nice find today!!!! :o

Congrats!!!

;)

Thanx for the replies all.I told my wife I thought it to be very old.I put in olive oil,I guess that was the right thing to do.I figure Ill lrt it soak a month or so and see.

With all those wheats found, silver is just a swing away.........;)

GL & HH,

The pin looks to be a Victorian era peice.
Nice finds for a short hunt.
You're lucky to have such a productive site so near by.
Best of luck to you jimmy. HH!

Good point leon,it could be brass.I know that it is a non-ferrous metal because there is no rust or corrosion.

Cool stuff!
