1800 LC "UNBELIEVEABLE!"----Looking for Sheldon Variety

My sister Kim,,(The Vermonster), found this coin last week. Without a doubt, THE best LC we have ever found. Exhibits VF details. I gave it the peroxide bath only 1 time, and soaked it in distilled water. I haven't coated it with olive oil or vaseline yet, as I really do not think it needs it. Well struck on a nice planchet with no die breaks. Many of these were struck on "crappy" planchets. I am in the process of purchasing a used Breen book so I can ID coins myself. CoinFacts does not list pictures of ALL the Sheldon varieties of the Normal 1800 date. Was hoping Don may be able to help. (Please tell me it's an NC-3 or 4) UNBELIEVEABLE how this came out, both with cleaning and out of the ground! Enjoy..........Hogge

Ditto, beautiful coin, but DON'T oil it!!!

Why? A short soak in oil will probably remove the rest of the corrosion. (safest way to do it)

Pretty awesome condition!

preference thing, don't like the look

A short soak won't really have a lasting effect unless you leave the oil on it. Just use some of the same soap they're using on the birds in the Gulf!

You would be hard pressed to find a year 2000 penny in that good of shape. Great job. Those soil conditions are what most detectorists dream about.

Nice scarce variety! It has been so long, I can't even remember what a nice copper sounds like on my detector. All I seem to be finding are buttons, buttons and more buttons!

Absolutely amazing coin! The condition is the best I've ever seen dug on any metal detecting site for its age. We rarely see 1900 coppers looking this good. I vote banner!!! Besides the banner is too full of gold coins and Civil war stuff lately. We need some colonial stuff up there.
